Meet Laura, Account Services Director

I have the world’s most exciting announcement!

But first, let’s start with a little story. Some of you may know it already. 

The year was 2015! I had been toying around with lettering and calligraphy on the side of my agency job. My sister Laura had already established a small business doing pointed pen calligraphy. After we realized it was all we talked about anyways, we decided to join forces. We started taking on weddings locally, hosting workshops, attending classes, and we had a BALL. We had no idea what we were doing (she knew more than me, in classic big sista format) but we met a lot of amazing people and got to work on a lot of amazing projects. 

A couple years in, Laura decided to take a little step back from our business, then called Riley + Ko. We were both working full-time and she was having a baby! All very exciting things, but didn’t leave a lot of time for a side hustle. I quit my full-time gig, continued Riley + Ko for about 7 months, and then rebranded to Brackish, knowing that my niche was truly in branding, not weddings. Turns out, I love a wedding but only when I’m a guest, thank you. 

As things started to ramp up for me, I knew eventually I’d need some help. And not only is Laura my sister and one of my best friends, she’s truly the yin to the yang of everything I needed for Brackish. Seriously, she told me that she loves doing her own taxes one time. She’s a process expert, organizational queen, and the kindest person you’ll ever meet. 

Finally, after half a year of conversations, we decided the timing was right! 

And so, I’m honored to formally introduce you to Laura Brewer, Account Services Director.

She’ll be managing all the ins and outs of the business, making sure we stay on track and all our clients stay happy. It is truly the natural next step in making sure we’re serving you in the best way possible. 

I’ll still be heading up creative projects and working directly with clients but I’m excited to finally be building the model for how I think this creative business should function. And I’m overjoyed to have one of my all-time favorite people along for the ride with me!
