Inside Brackish Creative: What I’ve Learned

A year ago, Hannah came to me with an idea.

After running Brackish Creative on her own for the past few years, Hannah was ready to bring on a teammate and asked if I’d like to join her. Being the predictable, slow to change gal that I am, I sat on this idea for a few months, unsure if it was the right time. I really enjoyed my job at a local nonprofit, had just welcomed our second child, and was a bit overwhelmed in the midst of pandemic life. But the idea of joining Hannah was exciting.

For years, we’d dreamed about working together again, and I was 100% bought into the work she was doing. I guess the saying holds true that if you wait for the right time, it’ll never happen, so I told her I was in!

Flash forward to now: it’s a joy to work with Hannah and the clients who are kind enough to trust us with their brands. I still watch in awe as Hannah works her magic through thoughtful strategies, hand-sketched illustrations, and custom typefaces. And I get to nerd out on keeping things organized and on schedule while learning the branding and design processes along the way.

The past few months have reiterated that saying about time:

If you wait until the perfect time to launch your business idea, invest in a new logo, or build your website, chances are you’ll never get around to it.

If you’re contemplating taking the next step in your business, lurking around our Instagram page or curious about what working with us would be like, read on.

  • After hearing about your project, we’ll offer recommendations for how we could best work together. This might mean a day intensive, where we’ll reserve a whole day to work with you to build your brand. Other times we’ll need to spend more time together to build an extensive brand strategy. Need social media templates? Great! Want help naming your new business? Can’t wait! Does a certain font make you want to throw up? We hear you! Let us help get you what you need.

  • We don’t have all the answers, but we’re ready to listen and ask questions. Often our work begins with a brand exploration workbook to learn more about your business, goals, and audience. As the project continues, we’ll look to you for continued engagement and feedback.

  • As fun as it is to be a part of the creative process, there’s nothing like hearing how our work together helps you accomplish your goals. One client shared, “Hannah took my broad vision and refined it into something that made sense to a larger audience. She is the reason my small business launched. Hannah also explained everything to me in a way in which it made sense to someone with no marketing/design experience.” We just love hearing that!

I hope these words remind you that there’s no time like now to take that next step. And if there’s anything we can do at Brackish Creative to help make it happen, we’d be thrilled to do so.
